?What is the reality of the Codex of Fatimah

Much indistinct speech proceeded in respect to the Codex of Fatimah (upon whom be peace) known as ‘Mushaf Fatimah’. The enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (upon whom be peace) sought to speak ill of the Shi‘a by accusing them that they have another Qur’an from which they derive the precepts of religion, which they call the ‘Codex of Fatimah’. This is what the enemies of the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (upon whom be peace) claim – which is a false accusation and is not worthy of any consideration. For the scholar will soon find the invalidity of these words when he refers to external reality of refers to the prooftexts reported from the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (upon whom be peace).

Moreover, the foregoing accusation is not new, or rather, it goes back to the area of the Umayyads and the Abbasids who were contemporary with the infallible Imams (upon whom be peace). What corroborates it are the reporters’ questions and the Imams’ replies as well as their declaration that deny categorically the Codex of Fatimah being another Qur’an.

ENCOURAGING HUMBLENESS

رسول اللَّه صلى اللَّه علیه وآله : مالی لا أرى‏ علَیکُم حَلاوَةَ العِبادَةِ ؟! قالوا : وما حَلاوَةُ العِبادَةِ ؟ قالَ : التَّواضُعُ .^۱

The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Why do I not see in you the sweetness of worship?!' They asked, 'What is the sweetness of worship?' He said, 'Humbleness.' ^۲

رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه علیه وآله : إنّ أفضَلَ النّاسِ عَبداً مَن تَواضَعَ عَن رِفعَةٍ .^۳

The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The best of people is a worshipper who humbles himself when in a high position.' ^۴

رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه علیه وآله : طُوبى‏ لِمَن تَواضَعَ للَّهِ فی غَیرِ مَنقَصَةٍ ، وأذَلَّ نَفسَهُ فی غَیرِ مَسکَنَةٍ .^۵

The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Blessed be he who humbles himself before Allah without having any deficiency, and who humiliates himself without poverty.' ^۶

ابن مسعودٍ : سألنا رسولَ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه علیه وآله عنِ الرّجُلِ یَجِدُ الشّی‏ءَ لَو خَرَّ مِن السّماءِ فتَخطَفُهُ الطَّیرُ کانَ أحَبَّ إلَیهِ مِن أن یَتَکلَّمَ بهِ ، قالَ : ذاکَ مَحضُ الإیمانِ ، أو صَریحُ الإیمانِ .^۱

The Prophet (SAWA) - when asked about a man who experiences something falling from the sky and being snatched by a bird is more pleasant for him than to talk about it, said, 'That is genuine faith or true faith.' ^۲

First: The Vicegerency

‘Ali (as) is the vicegerent of the Prophet (S) and the vicegerent is the one who bears all responsibilities on behalf of the one he represents. He executes these responsiblities with the command of the one he represents. This tradition is unambiguous in proving this status for ‘Ali (as).
However, the proof of his vicegerency is not restricted to this tradition alone. The Prophet (S) has expressed other traditions regarding this matter on numerous occasions, as recorded in the books of traditions and commentaries from both Sunnis and Shi’ahs.53

Second: The Brotherhood

‘Ali (as) is the brother of the Prophet (S) and Harun (as) was the blood-brother of Musa (as). The Prophet (S) gave the same position to ‘Ali (as) by making the brotherhood contract [‘aqd al-ukhuwwah]. There are numerous traditions regarding this topic that have been transmitted in Shi’ah and Sunni sources, one of which we will describe.

Hadith

فَضلُ عُلُوِّ الهِمَّةِ

High Ambition

 رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّیَ اللهُ عَلَیهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنّ اللّه‏َ تعالى یُحِبُّ مَعالِیَ الاُمورِ وأشرافَها، ویَکرَهُ سَفسافَها 
1– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Allah Almighty loves the highest and the most dignified of things and hates inferior things.’[Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 43021]


 الإمامُ علیٌّ (عَلَیهِ الّسَلامُ): قَدرُ الرّجُلِ على قَدرِ هِمَّتِهِ 
2– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The worth of a man is according to the extent of his ambition.’[Nahj al-Balagha, Saying 47] 


 الإمامُ علیٌّ (عَلَیهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن شَرُفَت هِمَّتُهُ عَظُمَت قِیمَتُهُ
3– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘He whose ambition is lofty his value is heightened.’[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 8320]

الإمامُ زینُ العابدینَ (عَلَیهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ فی الدُّعاءِ ـ: أسألُکَ مِن الشَّهادَةِ أقسَطَها، ومِن العِبادَةِ أنشَطَها ... ومِن الهِمَمِ أعلاها.

4– Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS), in a supplication, said, ‘I ask You for the most fair witnessing, and the most active of worship … and the highest ambition.’[al-SaHIfa al-SajjAdiyya, p. 439, no. 199] 


الإمامُ الباقرُ (عَلَیهِ الّسَلامُ): لاشَرَفَ کبُعدِ الهِمَّةِ 
5– Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘There is no dignity like great ambition.’[Bihar al-Anwar, v. 78, p. 165, no. 1]

ANGER الغَضَبُ

الغَضَبُ مِفتاحُ کُلِّ شَرٍّ

Anger is the Key to All Evils

1ـ رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّیَ اللهُ عَلَیهِ وَ آلِهِ): الغَضَبُ جَمرَةٌ مِن الشیطانِ. 

1-The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Anger is a smouldering ember [kindled by] Satan.’[Bihar al-Anwar, v. 73, p. 265, no. 15] 

2ـ الإمامُ علیٌّ (عَلَیهِ الّسَلامُ): الحِدَّةُ ضَربٌ مِن الجُنونِ لأنَّ صاحِبَها یَندَمُ، فإن لَم یَندَمْ فَجُنُونُهُ مُستَحکِمٌ. 

2– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Rage is a type of madness because the one enraged feels regret later on, and if he does not feel regret, then his madness has become ingrained.’[Nahj al-Balagha, Saying 255] 

The Ghadir Sermon

The Ghadir Sermon
The Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH&HP) last sermon/khotbah -delivered by the
pond of Ghadir- has been narrated by over 400 Sunni scholars and thousands of
Shi'ah scholars. The Prophet, when returning from his last pilgrimage Hajj
-Hajjat-Ol-Weda'-, on the 18th of Dhyl-Hajjah stopped by the pond of Ghadir
and in front of over one hundred thousand people delivered the following
sermon and after the speech, the people pledged their allegiance to the Prophet
Mohammad and his Divinely chosen Successor, Ali (PBUT). The whole procedure
took three days.
It is important to remember that in translation the spirit of the text may not be
fully transferred, so it is recommended that the Arabic text along with related
Hadithes are also studied.

It has been told that an Arab man entered Madineh and asked : " who is the most generous man here ?" he was guided to Imam Hossein . The Arab entered mosque and saw that Imam was praying .After he finished praying ,the Arab man asked him to remove his need.

Tan’im

 

 

The Imam left Mecca, and at Tan’im he met a caravan which carried luxury goods and royal robes and gowns. It was a delivery for the “king”, Yazid Ibn Muawiyah from his governor at Yemen. The Imam ordered that all the cargo of the caravan be taken and given to poor people.

 

He said, “Who is to have this luxury while poor people starve?” Then, he announced to the people and to the workers on the caravan, “Whoever wants to come with us, is welcome, and whoever wants his wages, we will give him his pay, and whoever wants to leave is free to leave.”
