THE PROPHET (PBUH) A WITNESS OF GOD FOR PEOPLE
?(Is Moses (A.S) Superior to Muhammad (PBUH
It is narrated from Imam Sadiq (A.S) that a Jew asked the holy prophet (PBUH): “Whether you are superior or the prophet Moses to whom God used to speak and had revealed Torah to him and had made his walking stick a miracle and had split the sea for him and had always shadowed him under the clouds”
The holy prophet (PBUH)told the Jew: “Indeed a person should not boast and consider his own self as superior to others nevertheless the truth is that when Adam committed a mistake by his own freewill and wanted to seek forgiveness he prayed: “My God! I implore You to forgive me for the sake of the rights of Muhammad and Ale Muhammad on You.” Then God forgave him. Similarly when prophet Noah (A.S) was afraid of storm and feared that his ark may sink, he prayed: “My God! I implore You to save me for the sake of the rights of Muhammad and Ale Muhammad, then God saved him from drowning. Similarly when Abraham (A.S) was thrown into the fire he prayed: “My God! I implore You to save me from fire for the sake of the rights of Muhammad and Ale Muhammad, then God saved him from the fire and made it cool and safe.
And when Moses had thrown his walking stick which became a python, he was afraid of the python and prayed: “My God! I implore You to protect me from this python for the sake of the rights of Muhammad and Ale Muhammad, then God said: “Don’t be afraid you are the superior one.”
Ye Jew! If Moses were present now without believing in my prophethood, his faith would not benefit him nor his prophet hood.”
Ye Jew! Imam al Mahdi (A.S) will emerge from my posterity and Jesus, son of Maryam, shall be sent by God to assist him. Jesus (A.S) will advance him to lead the congregation prayers and shall pray behind Imam Mahdi (A.F). (Amali e Sheikh Sadooqh P.287 4/320)
Note: The first creation of God was light i.e. the souls of Muhammad (S.A) and Ale Muhammad (fourteen Mas’umeen), they were created many million years before Adam and Eve and they perceived all the creations of God which were created as & when necessary.
?(What others said about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH
:DIWAN CHAND SHARMA wrote
"Muhammad was the soul of kindness, and his influence was felt and never forgotten by those around him."
:EDWARD GIBBON and SIMON OCKLEY speaking on the profession of ISLAM
"'I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD, AND Muhammad, and AN APOSTLE OF GOD' is the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honor of the Prophet has never transgressed the measure of human virtues; and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion."
:The famous poetess of India, SAROJINI NAIDU says
"It was the first religion that preached and practiced democracy; for, in the mosque, when the call for prayer is sounded and worshippers are gathered together, the democracy of Islam is embodied five times a day when the peasant and king kneel side by side and proclaim: 'God Alone is Great'... I have been struck over and over again by this indivisible unity of Islam that makes man instinctively a brother"
In the words of PROF. HURGRONJE
"The league of nations founded by the prophet of Islam put the principle of international unity and human brotherhood on such universal foundations as to show candle to other nations.“
He continues: "The fact is that no nation of the world can show a parallel to what Islam has done towards the realization of the idea of the League of Nations. “
The world has not hesitated to raise to divinity, individuals whose lives and missions have been lost in legend. Historically speaking, none of these legends achieved even a fraction of what Muhammad (PBUH) accomplished. And all his striving was for the sole purpose of uniting mankind for the worship of One God on the codes of moral excellence.
Muhammad (PBUH) or his followers never at any time claimed that he was a Son of God or the God-incarnate or a man with divinity - but he always was and is even today considered as only a Messenger chosen by God.
Today after a lapse of fourteen centuries, the life and teachings of MUHAMMAD (PBUH) have survived without the slightest loss, alteration or interpolation. They offer the same undying hope for treating mankind's many ills, which they did when he was alive.
This is not a claim of Muhammad's (PBUH) followers but also the inescapable conclusion forced upon by a critical and unbiased history.
Not so this man. Muhammad (PBUH) accomplished so much in such diverse fields of human thought and behaviour in the fullest blaze of human history.
Every detail of his private life and public utterances has been accurately documented and faithfully preserved to our day. The authenticities of the record so preserved are vouched for not only by the faithful followers but also even by his prejudiced critics.
Muhammad (PBUH) was a teacher, a social reformer, a moral guide, a faithful friend, a wonderful companion, a devoted husband, a loving father - all in one.
No other man in history ever excelled or equalled him in any of these different aspects of life - but it was only for the selfless personality of Muhammad (PBUH) to achieve such incredible perfections.
:THOMAS CARLYLE in his HEROES AND HEROWORSHIP, was simply amazed as to
"How one man single-handedly, could weld warring tribes and wandering Bedouins into a most powerful and civilized nation in less than two decades."
"The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only."
"A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world; the world’s Maker had ordered so. “
Now please relax for a moment
The least YOU could do as thinking and concerned human being is to stop for a moment and ask yourself: Could these statements sounding so extraordinary and revolutionary be really true?
And supposing they really are true and you did not know this man MUHAMMAD (PBUH) or hear about him, isn't it time you responded to this tremendous challenge and put in some effort to know him?
(Merits of Salawat on the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH
Shaikh Kulaini narrates from Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) or Imam Muhammad Baqir (A.S) that he said, "For increasing the measure of good deeds in the scales (meezan), no other deed carries weight than sending Salawat on Muhammad (PBUH) and His progeny. A person's deeds will be weighed, and when his good deeds will seem less, Salawat will be brought and kept, and the good deeds will increase.
The Holy prophet (PBUH) says that on the day of Judgment when the deeds shall be weighed, I will be present there, If a person’s bad deeds will be weighing more than his good ones, I will bring along the Salawat which he sent upon Me, and add it to the good deeds thereby increasing its weight.
Shaikh Sadooq narrates from Imam Reza (A.S) that He said, if a person does not have the means to lessen the stock of his bad deeds, he should send Salawat and salaam on Muhammad (PBUH) and His progeny abundantly, doing so will decrease (the weight of ) his sins.
Allamah Qutubuddin Rawandi narrates in "Dawaat" that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that if a person in my love and affection sends Salawat on me thrice every day and night, it becomes the right on Allah that He should forgive his sins which he committed during the day and night.
The Holy prophet (PBUH) says that one night I saw in a dream my uncle ibne Abdul Muttalib and my cousin Jafar ibne Abi Talib. In front of them was kept a tray full of plums. After sometime as they ate, the plums turned into grapes. Then again as they ate, the grapes turned into fresh dates. They again started eating them. I went towards them and asked, "May my father and mother be your ransom which particular deeds have you performed that has excelled all other deeds, and has made these blessings to be showered on you?" They replied, May our parents be your ransom those deeds are: sending Salawat on you, feeding water to the pilgrims (of Haj), and Love (walayah) of Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S.
The Holy prophet (PBUH) says that, if anyone writes my name in a book and sends Salawat on me, the Angels will seek forgiveness for him till my name remains in that book.
Shaikh Kulaini narrates from Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) that he said whenever you talk about the Holy prophet (PBUH), send Salawat on him.
When a person sends Salawat once on Him, Allah orders thousand ranks of His Angels to send a thousand Salawat on the person himself. And because of Allah and His Angels sending salawat, the whole creation sends Salawat on him. And the person who does not do so, is an arrogant and ignorant person. And Allah, His prophet, and the Holy Ahl-ul-Bayt (A.S) leaves such a person to himself.
It is written in "Ma'ani al-Akhbaar" in the context of the meaning of the verse of Salawat from Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S), that the meaning of Salawat according to Allah is blessings (Rehmat), while to the Angels it is safety and for the people it is a supplication (dua’a). In the same book it is written that a narrator asked Imam (A.S) as to how should we recite Salawat on Muhammad (PBUH) and His progeny Imam (A.S)? Imam replied
The narrator continues, that I then asked Imam (A.S.) as to what was the reward for this Salawat? Imam (A.S) replied, "A person reciting this Salawat becomes clean from the sins as if he was just born from his mother's womb".
Shaikh Abul Futuh Razi narrates from the Holy prophet
(PBUH) that He said, "on the night of me'raj when I ascended to the heavens, I saw an Angel who had a thousand hands. On each of his hands there were a thousand fingers, and he was counting something on them. I asked Jibrael as to who that Angel was, and what was he counting? Jibrael replied that the Angel had been appointed by Allah to count the drops of rain, so that it may be known as to how many drops have fallen down to the earth. I turned towards the Angel and asked him, "Do you know the total amount of the rain-drops which have fallen down on the earth from the day Allah created this world till now"? To which he replied. "O prophet of Allah I swear by my Lord who has chosen You (as a blessing) for mankind, verily I know the total amount of rain-drops fallen on the earth till now. Even to the extent that how many drops have fallen in the wilds, in the prosperous lands, in the gardens and also in the cemetery".
Then I told him that I was wary much surprised by the power of his mind and intellect and the ability to remember, to which he replied, O prophet of Allah verily this ability to count proves futile I try to count only one thing". I asked him as to what calculation was that. He replied, "'when people of Your Ummah gather at one place and send Salawat upon You, it is beyond my ability and capacity to count the rewards for it".
Shaikh Kulaini relates, that whoever recites the following Salawat seven times during Asr on Fridays, Allah gives him the rewards equal to all His servants, and accepts his deeds and prayers of that day. It is also related that the reward will be equal to the sight in the eyes of all man
It is related that whoever recites the following Salawat after morning prayers, will not die until he sees his Imame zaman (A.S).
The Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) is superior to all the prophets
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) narrates that whenever Jibrael visited the Prophet (PBUH), he used to sit politely like a slave. He never entered without obtaining the permission of the Prophet (PBUH)
Imam Hassan Askari (A.S) narrates that someone asked the Prophet (PBUH), “Is ‘Ali (A.S) superior or the angels?” The Prophet (PBUH) replied, “A person who has true love for ‘Ali (A.S) in his heart is superior to the angels!”
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) narrates that one day a Jew came to the presence of the Prophet (PBUH) and asked, “Tell me! Are you and your Vicegerents (A.S), superior to Prophet Musa (A.S)?”
The Prophet (PBUH) replied, praising oneself is not right. But, since you have asked the question, I shall have to give the reply! Therefore, listen, and listen with care!
When Prophet Adam (A.S) committed the mistake, then he offered a prayer to this effect: ‘O Allah! For the sake of Muhammad (PBUH), and his progeny, forgive my mistake!’ Allah, therefore pardoned Adam (A.S).’
When Noah (A.S)’s Ark was caught in the cyclone, he prayed to Allah,’ O the Creator! For the sake of Muhammad (PBUH) and his progeny, guide my ark safely out of the cyclone!’ His prayer was answered.
When Nimrod consigned Ibrahim (A.S), the Friend of Allah, to the fire, Ibrahim (A.S) prayed, ‘O Creator of Ibrahim (A.S)! For the sake of Muhammad (PBUH) and his progeny, make the fire cool on me!” The fire went cold.
When the magicians in the court of the Pharaoh attacked Musa (A.S) with their serpents, Musa (A.S) got scared and prayed, ‘O Allah! For the sake of Muhammad (PBUH) and his Vicegerents (A.S) deliver me from this danger!’ Musa (A.S) was ordered to throw his staff. He complied; the staff became a bigger serpent and swallowed all the serpents of the magicians. Musa (A.S)’s prayer was thus answered.
O Jew! If Musa (A.S) comes today and does not accept me as the Prophet (PBUH), then his own prophet hood would go void! O Jew! I have a descendent; when he appears with the Order of Allah, ‘Isa (A.S) will descend from the Heaven and offer prayers standing behind him.
An authentic source records that on the day when Allah took an oath from the progeny of Adam (A.S), He asked all the prophets (A.S) and the angels, “Am I not your Creator, your Lord? Isn’t Muhammad (PBUH) your Prophet? Aren’t ‘Ali (A.S) and his Immaculate Progeny (A.S), your Imams??”
All of them replied in unison, “Definitely! Yes!!”
Those prophets, who took the earliest initiative in affirming this, were put in the rank of ulu al azm (The superior) prophets. The angels who took precedence over the other angels in responding, they became Muqarrabeen, or the angels closest to Allah!

Titles of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Holy Qur’an
It is reported in Kashshaf-e-Haqiqat that Jafar bin Muhammad Sadiq (A.S) said: The Almighty Lord has remembered my grandfather, the Messenger of God, by several names.
:First ‘Muhammad’ in the verse
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Apostle of Allah and the Last of the prophets (33:40)
:Second: ‘Ahmad’ as He has said
And when Isa son of Maryam said: O children of Israel! Surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, (61:6)
:Third: ‘Abdullah’ when He says
And that when the servant of Allah (Abdillah) stood up calling upon Him, they well nigh crowded him (to death). (72:19)
Fourth and fifth: ‘Taha’ and ‘Yasin’.
By ‘Taha’ is perhaps meant ‘Taalubush Shafat’ (One who intercedes) and by ‘Yasin’ ‘O! Syedul Bashar’ (Chief of men). It may also be that ‘Yasin’ denotes ‘perfect man’. Anyway He swears by the Qur’an, which contains wisdom. There are various sciences and lessons in it as well as many truths, wisdoms, admonitions and warnings. It is, therefore, proper that he (Holy Prophet) may have the adjective ‘Hakim’ as the conveyer of Qur’an, which is from the ‘Hakim’ (Ruler), that is Allah.

THE PROPHET (PBUH) A WITNESS OF GOD FOR PEOPLE
As we see in the twenty first verse of the sacred surah of Ahzab (The Allies), the Great Prophet (PBUH) of Islam is a good sample for humanity up to the Doom's Day. Taking into account the contents of this Surah and many other verses in the Holy Qur’an, professor Hussein Ansarian in his book “the land of lovers” elaborates on this important issue.
“Certainly you have in the Apostle of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much. 33:21”
The most generous Prophet of Islam used to say:
مَنْ أحْیى سُنَّتِی فَقَدْ أحْیانی، وَمَن أحْیانی کانَ مَعِی فِی الجنّةِ
“One who enlivens my ways of life has kept me alive and one who keeps me alive will enter the paradise with me.”
Imam Sadiq (A.S) has said: I do not like to see a Muslim leave this world having not carried out the Prophet's ways of life at least once.
:We see in a narration
The best ways of life are those adopted by God's Prophet (PBUH).
Why? This is because the Great Prophet (PBUH) was directly and indirectly raised up in God's ways. God let His own names and attributes manifest in Muhammad (PBUH). This was so evident that he mirrored God's traits and characteristics. He has declared
“God educated me and it was a good education.”
:There are many references in the Holy Qur’an to the Prophet's behavior
“Thus it is due to mercy from Allah that you deal with them gently, and had you been rough, hard-hearted, they would certainly have dispersed from around you. 3:159”
“And most surely you conform yourself to sublime morality. 68:4 »
“Say: if you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults.3:31”
Sheikh Mofid reports from Imam Baqir (A.S) who has said that the Great Prophet (PBUH), at the time of his demise, said
There will be no Prophet after me and there is no right ways of life after me, either.
The Prophet of God has said
Respect my offsprings and carry out my ways of life well.
:Imam Ali (A.S) has stated
Follow the ways and approaches of the Prophet in your life because they are the best ways of life. His methods in life are the most honorable ones.
Imam Ali (A.S) in his Nahj al-Balaghah has encouraged us to follow our honorable Prophet because he is a great man worthy of following those who follow him are lucky ones. The most beloved man for God is the one who closely follows his Prophet and imitates the ways which that great man has followed and has set for us to follow.
The Prophet (PBUH) always begged God to lead him towards the right mannerisms and to keep him away from the vices.
And Allah accepted the Prophet's invocation and provided him with the sacred verses of the Holy Qur’an.
Saeed Ibn Hoshsham says: I asked the Prophet's wife about his behaviour. She asked me: Don’t you recite the Holy Qur’an? I answered positively. She then added, “His manners are based on the Holy Qur’an.” The Prophet (PBUH) carried out what the Holy Qur’an had taught him to do and he carried out the Qur’anic commands swifter, better and more sincerely than others.
“Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant. 7:199”
“Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the doing of good to others and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion; He admonishes you that you may be mindful.16:90”
“And be patient and your patience is not but by the assistance of Allah. 16:127”
“(O my son) and bear patiently that which befalls you; surely these acts require courage. 31:17”
“So pardon them and turn away; surely Allah loves those who do good to others. 5:13”
“Repel evil with what is best, when lo! He between whom and you was enmity would be as if he were a warm friend. 41:34”
THE PROPHET (PBUH) A WITNESS OF GOD FOR PEOPLE
It is upto the people to follow the great Prophet (PBUH) closely and learn what the Holy Qur’an taught him. In this way people could arrive at the worldly prosperity and could benefit abundance in the Hereafter. In doing this, they could avoid going astray. God Has made our obligations clear. There is no excuse for anybody, however.
Concerning the Prophet's right mannerisms, generosity and pardoning, Imam Ali (A.S) has said:
Among the prisoners-of-war of the tribe called Tei who were brought into Medina there was a girl who told the Prophet (PBUH): O Muhammad, what would happen if you made me free so that I could escape the reproaches of the Arab tribes. I say this because I am the tribal chief's daughter. My father used to protect and give shelter those who lacked it. He used to free the Prisoners-of-war. He used to supply the travellers with food; he would greet others and would never let any needy go without his need having been met. I am the daughter of Hatam Ta'ee.
The Great Prophet (PBUH) replied: O girl, what you said are the characteristics of a true believer. If your father were a Moslem, I would ask God's blessings for him. Then the Prophet (PBUH) added: let the girl be free because her father loved good mannerism and Allah loves good morals.
When the girl was being freed, Abu Bardat Ibn-e Dinar rose from his place and asked the Great Prophet (PBUH). O, Messenger of God, Does God love good morals? The Great Prophet (PBUH) replied: I swear to God, in Whose power lies my life, that only the possessors of good morals may enter the paradise.
Then the Prophet(PBUH) added: Among the good morals that Islam recommends are the following: proper association with people, being generous towards them, being lenient to them, and treating them amicably; spreading among people the right ways of living, and feeding them; being the first in greeting them; paying visits to the sick, whether the sick person is a well-wisher Moslem, or a sinner; taking part in the Moslem's funeral processions; treating the neighbours kindly, whether they are Moslems or not; paying respects to the senior citizens; accepting people's invitations and inviting them; pardoning people; reconciling two disagreeing persons, being honourable and magnanimous; making sacrifices; suppressing one's anger and rage and then pardoning the wrong-doer.
Islam has prohibited the following features and considers them among sins:
Performing useless actions; involving in music and songs of any sort; treason, hypocrisy, and unfounded revenge; telling lies, back-biting, jealousy, greed, injustice, aggression, tricks, eavesdropping, agitating people, lack of association with relatives, being bad-tempered, pride, selfishness, improper praise of others, cursing others, spite and animosity, theft and aggression.
Anas says: The Prophet (PBUH) never refrained from giving us the right pieces of advice; he always recommended that we carry out the right things. A good sample of what the Prophet (PBUH) believed in was the following sacred verse from the Holy Qur’an
“Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the doing of good to others and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion; He admonishes you that you may be mindful. 16:90”
We should, however, be aware of the fact that the Prophet (PBUH) possessed all the high standards of morals prior to teaching them to others; in the same way, he did not have the pernicious features that he advised people to avoid.
Moaz says: The Prophet(PBUH) told me: I recommend to you that you be pious in all worldly affairs; that you get involved in honesty and decency; that you keep your promises; that you do not take part in treason; that you respect your neighbours; that you treat the orphans generously; that you be amicable in speech; that you volunteer to be the first in greeting people; that you take part in good deeds; that you curtail your wishes; and that you be faithful. The Prophet(PBUH) recommended the following, as well: the understanding of the Qur’an, the love for the Hereafter; the fear of the Resurrection Day; being humble; avoiding cures; to avoid refuting the teller of the truth and confirming the liar; not obeying the sinner; to avoid disobeying the just leader; and to avoid performing sins and corruption. The Prophet (PBUH) recommended that I repent secretly for any sin I have performed secretly.
This is how the Prophet (PBUH) invited people to the proper mannerisms, piety, and good deeds.
